Walk description

We meet at Mytham Bridge road, Bamford, before walking across the road to catch the train to Edale. After leaving Edale Station, we have a steady climb up to Hollins Cross on the Great Ridge, then a steep but short section up Back Tor. The route continues to the triangulation (trig) point on Lose Hill (also named Ward’s Piece after G.H.B.Ward who founded the original Clarion Ramblers in 1900) and head downhill SE towards the outskirts of Hope. From then on, it’s a steady flattish route through Thornhill and back to Bamford.

This is an 8 mile walk, after travelling by train from Bamford station to Edale and should take approximately 5 hours including the train journey and lunch. It includes 2 uphill sections and several stiles.

Note 2: Earlier than usual start at 9:15am
