Walk description
We start from the car park at Ashford in the Water, then cut across open fields to join Pennyunk Lane and walk all the way to Monsal Head. There is then a STEEP DESCENT down to the viaduct at Monsal Dale to walk along side the River Wye where we will stop for lunch. After lunch we carry on down Monsal Dale, cross the main A6 road then there is a STEEP ASCENT into Great Shacklow Woods following the woodland path for our return to Ashford in the Water.
This is a really pleasant walk of 7 miles.
