Date: Thursday, 7th November 2024
Start time: 10:00
Grade: Moderate
Distance: 6.0 miles
Walk description

The circular walk completes a circuit of one half of Ladybower Reservoir and passes the awe inspiring Derwent Dam, scene of practice flights for the famous Dambusters raids of WW11.
Sit and have lunch at Fairholmes and watch many varieties of woodland birds at the feeding stations. Hopefully there will still be some autumnal colours around.

The route follows well made paths and tracks near the reservoir. There are about 100 steps to negotiate in two places and tracks on the east side are gently undulating.
N.B. The steep steps at Derwent Dam can be avoided by following the road around.

This is a lovely easy/moderate walk around Ladybower and offers great views for only a minimum of effort. This 6 mile walk will take about 3.5 hours with a lunch stop.
